Dear
Friends,
This is the 1st campaign update of
my re-election campaign, and I am pleased to announce
that we are off to a wonderful start!
Our April 17th Kick-off event was
an enormous success. Thanks to all of you who were able
to attend this standing-room-only event. It was an honor
to have Van
Jones (former green jobs advisor to President
Obama) and Nativo
Lopez (president of MAPA, Mexican American
Political Association) speak in support of my re-election
and our progressive movement in Richmond. Please take
a moment to read an article
about the event - and check out some photos
from the event.
We made an incredible kick-off splash
and now your help is greatly needed going
forward. Please save Saturday, June 12th, for
our first precinct walk of this election year.
Remember, our campaign efforts are funded with no corporate
money, which means we win by ordinary people walking
precincts, knocking on doors, and talking with neighbors
about the important work we have been doing. The precinct
walking will be for my re-election campaign and also
for the election of Jovanka Beckles,
an extraordinary and deeply committed progressive candidate
for Richmond City Council!
Jovanka and I will be there on June
12th to welcome you all to the start of Progressive
Precinct Walking 2010. Please join us on June
12th at:
Richmond Progressive Alliance office
317 11th St. (off Nevin) -- see map below for directions
9:30 a.m.
Coffee and breakfast treats will be available
Wear your walking shoes!
It is my privilege and honor to be running

another 4 years. If you haven't added your name to my endorser

As I said in my kick-off speech: As
a community, we have unified to take bold and courageous
steps. Future progress will require even greater
unity. There is no greater joy than to continue down
this road. Our journey together is extraordinary
and poignant. Thank you for being a part of this
journey.
Sincerely,
Gayle |
